Ali Rustempasic, AAMS® Wealth Advisor, RJFS Co-Founder STWP-Tucson

To Ali, serving as a wealth manager is more than just a job; it fulfills his passion for helping people pursue their cherished goals, find financial independence and provide for their loved ones.

It’s what drives him to devote considerable time to meeting with his clients – in person, by phone or on Zoom – talking to them about their goals and understanding what matters most to them. He is dedicated to helping them maintain their quality of life in retirement without the fear of running out of money while being able to leave a respectable legacy.

Ali works with a lot of business owners and family trusts and collaborates closely with their network of professionals, including CPAs and attorneys. “Most of my clients are self-made, have a high net worth and have worked long and hard to earn what they have,” Ali explains. “They usually come to me three or more years before retirement and have big financial changes coming soon.”

Ali is not only honest and compassionate but also straightforward. “My job is to challenge clients to help them pursue the financial life they want. I find that sometimes clients benefit most from conversations that they least want to have.”

Ali has earned the Accredited Asset Management SpecialistSM designation from the College for Financial Planning. He is involved in strategic thinking, research and due diligence, in addition to applying his problem-solving skills to specific client scenarios. Ali’s initial interest in the financial services field came after seeing how advisors handled his mother’s accounts after his father passed. “They were slow to call back and explained things to her like she was a child. I knew I could do a better job.”

Ali and the team transitioned to Raymond James in February 2023, drawn by the culture of independence, the freedom to put clients first and the advanced planning tools and forward-thinking technology.

Previously in his career, Ali was a financial advisor and limited partner with Edward Jones for 12 years. He served in leadership roles as a mentor, field trainer, and area diversity, equity and inclusion leader in the Arizona, California and Colorado regions.

Ali was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona. Today, he lives in Oro Valley, a suburb of Tucson, with his wife, Alma (who works with him). They have four children and are actively involved in their sports and hobbies. He and his wife also enjoy traveling and ballroom dancing. Over the past few years, they have taken lessons to master the bachata dance, a romantic Latin style popular around the world. Ali also enjoys stand-up comedy and loves to go fishing and walking in the mountains of northern Arizona.
